WE ARE WHAT WE THINK!
In the physical realm we are what we eat, but in the mental realm we are what we think. In fact, the lifestyle of every individual is the result of how he thinks. As people mature they should be constantly developing a vocabulary, as no one can think without words. The alternative is for a person to live by his emotions, but emotions do not have the ability to think, ... they merely react to a situation.
Developing a good vocabulary with which to think should produce motivation toward a particular goal in life, and then, by making good decisions along the way, our own particular lifestyle will become a reality.
We are free to make a choice as to whether we will fill our minds with the world's viewpoint or with God's viewpoint. In Isaiah 55:8,9, the Lord says: "My thoughts are not your thoughts; neither are your ways My ways. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts."
What stimulates your thought pattern? Our brains are being programmed each day by every kind of media this world has to offer, and when we are satisfied to accept what we hear from the
media regarding predictions for the future of our nation and/or world events in general, our minds become filled with human viewpoint.
In contrast to human viewpoint. God desires that we fill our minds with His Divine Viewpoint of Life, which is found in one place only ... in the Word of God, which we call the Bible. In 1 Corinthians 2:16, the Bible declares that what is recorded in the scriptures is the very thinking of the Lord Jesus Christ!
In all geographical areas God gives the gift of pastor-teacher to certain men who have the ability to learn the original languages of scripture and will be able to present God's Word accurately so that Christians may grow up spiritually. If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and desire to find God's plan and purpose for your life. He will provide the right pastor-teacher for you. God's timing is always perfect, so we must be patient.
Who is the Lord Jesus Christ, and why is it necessary that we consider Him? Answer ... because He is both God and Man in one Person forever, and He is the only Savior of mankind! He had to become a man in order to die on a cross and pay the penalty of sin for all mankind. In speaking to a group of Pharisees one day, Jesus said, "Now is My soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour? But for this cause I came into this world." (John 12:27)
Every past, present and future sin was paid for by Jesus Christ when He died on the cross, and nothing man does can add anything to the work of Jesus Christ. Salvation is obtained by faith alone in Christ alone! When people add things such as baptism, tithing, keeping the Ten Commandments, or observing certain rituals, etc. for salvation, it is blasphemy. No act of human good can deliver anyone from the penalty of sin. If a person dies without having believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior, he will be evaluated and judged at the end of time for his human good works ... not his sins, because (hey were all paid for on the cross:
"And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat upon it from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and there was found no place for them.
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God, and the books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life; and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every man according to their works.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every man according to their works.
God has a perfect plan for every one of us, and that plan is revealed to us in His Word. We were born sinners ... totally depraved and without any knowledge of God: "As it is written, 'there is none righteous, no not even one'." (Romans 3:10)
However, because God is not willing that anyone should perish, He gives everyone room for repentance ... that is, while we are alive on this earth, we will have an opportunity to receive eternal life by changing our attitude toward the Lord Jesus Christ(2 Peter 3:9b)
"He who believes on the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe in Him shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him' (John 3:36)
"Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
